- PRINCIPE FELIPE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE (Arts and Science Museum)
|
|
|
|
|
It constitutes one of the most shocking buildings among those inside the City of Arts and Science. It possesses exhibitions related to the topics of science and technology, and it is conceived as an interactive museum where the visitor discovers on his own, through didactic procedures, how progress has contributed to improve our standards of living.

- FINE ARTS MUSEUM (San Pío V 9)

|
|
|
|
It’s the second Art Gallery in Spain, after the Museum El Prado in Madrid, and it’s specialized in gothic paintings. It has 2.000 works, among which many pictures by valencian artists of the XIV and XV centuries are outstanding. It also has interesting collections of modern art, sculptures and archeological pieces.

- VALENCIAN INSTITUTE OF MODERN ART (IVAM, Guillen de Castro 118)

|
|
It’s one of the best museums of modern art in Spain. You can admire 360 paintings, craftsmanship in precious metals, sculptures and drawings . In the center of the building the Collections Julio González and Pinazo are always exhibited. You can see remains of the old medieval city wall in the Wall Room.

- MUSEUM OF PREHISTORY AND CULTURES IN VALENCIA (Corona 36)

|
|
|
|
Museum whose name corresponds to the union of the Museum of Prehistory with the Ethnologic Museum, both located in the Beneficiencia building. In their rooms, interesting remains and pieces from the Paleolithic period are permanently exhibited. There are also travelling exhibitions.

- MUSEUM FALLERO (Plaza de Monteolivete 4)

|
|
|
|
It contains a collection of the prized“ninots” (carboard figures that are part of the Fallas monuments) saved from the fire since 1934. It also includes photographies of the best Fallas and the advertising posters which have won the annual contest. Its complement is the Museum of the Fallero Artist.

- MUSEUM OF THE FALLERO ARTIST (Avda. San Jose artesano, 17)

|
|
|
It exhibits scale models of fallas and groups of full scale fallas for children, watercolour and pencil drawings, “ninots”, small books explaining the satiric comments in Fallas, pins and ribbons, everything made by artists specialized in Fallas.

- PATRIARCA MUSEUM (Casa del patriarca, Nau 1)

|
|
|
Magnificient cloister in a renaissance monastery. Its museum keeps works of arte of great value, as many paintings by El Greco and by some of the first flemish artists. In the main rooms, a group of seventy five paintings are permanently exhibited, but there are more than a hundred distributed in other rooms of the building.

- BULLFIGHT ART MUSEUM ( Pasaje Dr. Serra 10)

|
|
Founded in 1929, it is one of the oldest and most important in Spain, and has historical objects from the XVIII, XIX, and XX centuries. It is conceived as a space for promotion and investigation of the art of bullfighting.

|
There is one in Valencia, in Rosario street, though the new Museum of Rice of Cullera has been recently created, located in an old hermit sorrounded by a privileged landscape of rice fields. It keeps an important collection of tools and garments which were used for the growing of rice, and a whole room for the gastronomy of rice. It has a great ethnologic value, because all the objects exhibited are from the XIX century.

- MUSEUM-HOUSE JOSÉ BENLLIURE (Blanquerías 23)

It is located in a artistic-historical site, between the Serrano Towers, the modern museum IVAM and the Exhibition Center El Carmen. It keeps paintings, ceramics, sculptures and drawings by this great valencian sculptor whose artistic production goes back to the beginning of the century. The building has also an interesting garden that still keeps its romanesque atmosphere.

- NATIONAL MUSEUM OF CERAMICS (Poeta Querol 2)

|
|
|
Its is considered as the most important in Spain. It contains collections of mosaics and ceramics that go from the greek, roman and iberian ages to real works of art made in our days. You can admire representative pieces of Manises or Paterna ceramics, or a colletion of medieval valencian tiles made and decorated in the Royal Ceramics Factory in Alcora.

- CATHEDRAL MUSEUM (Valencia Cathedral)

|
|
Here you can find paintings by great artists as Jacomart, Juan de Juanes, altarpieces from the XVI centuries, the original statues of the "Puerta de los Apóstoles" (one of the doors of the cathedral) from the XIV century, Gothic sculptures, the Gran Custodia (Holy Monstrance) of the Corpus Religious March, from the XX century, and some other objects related to religious art.

- MILITARY HISTORY MUSEUM

The Museum contains objects, weapons and testimonies of the Spanish Army history. Its historical fond contains, most of it, weapons and other interessant objects from the old military region "Levante" and they are used for remind us about relevant facts that happened in Spain, which military participation was decisive.

The reconstructed house of the famous Valencia writer, Vicente Blasco Ibañez, nailed in the incomparable framework of the Malvarrosa beach, and converted today at home-museum, harbors its rememberances, personal objects, and literary works. The House Museum is Testimony of the most rich and various personal and literary life of the author of "La Barraca". A place of obligatory visit for all the lovers of the literature.

Polite the ninety-five anniversary of the birth of Concha Piquer (Valencia 1906-Madrid 1990), Valencia´s City Hall yielded homage to the memory of the famous Valencian artist destining like House-Museum to her dedicated, the building where to be born December 8th, the indicated year of 1906. In this House-Museum, can be seen the most personal objects that sourrounded in life to the singer, fans, dresses, writings, photographs of the singer are accompanied for audiovisual especially mounted for the occasion)

The Museum of the City is found nailed in the heart of the Historic Center, next to the Basilica of the Virgin and the Almudín, in a beautiful stately building. The collection starts in the Century XV reaching the Century XX through a total of 1039 pieces and 77 books, pieces of the most famous artists than has given the Valencia Community along the history (José Vergara, Ignacio Pinazo, Equipo Crónica, Ricardo Boix..)

- ATARAZANAS (Juan Antonio Benlliure, Sq)

The Atarazanas constitute the main building of the city of Valencia destined in origin to construction and repair of embarcations, to the maritime guard of gears, or armaments that carried the ships. This building has suffered diverse deterioration and modifications in its functions (shops, stores, cinemas). The Atarazanas were declared National Monument in 1949. After its acquisition by the Local Goberment, was object of restoration, and became a new museum space for the city since its inauguration in 1994

- THE ALMUDIN (San Luis Beltrán Sq)

The Almudín (S.XV)was the main building destined to storage, distribution and sale of wheat of the city of Valencia. In 1908, the Almudin harbored the Paleontologic museum, in 1969 was declared National Monument and in 1996 the restoration was finished in order to convert this building in a museum space that harbors temporary expositions.

- CRAFT CENTRE OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY (Hospital St)

The craft centre of the Valencia community shows works and Valencian craft objects (ceramics, fans handpainted in ivory or in exotic woods, Valencian specialty, works in wood as guitars, "castañuelas", pipes...art of the silk, works in metal and furniture).

- BANCAJA´S EXHIBITION ROOM

The interest by the cultural diffusion has carried to the Bancaja´s Cultural Centre to acquire fundamental works of the contemporary art. Inside this patrimony emphasizes the graphic work of Picasso, that represents an important part of it, with four large series of engravings of the history´s most prolific artist.
